”Professor Kevin Featherstone, Eleftherios Venizelos Chair in Contemporary Greek Studies and Director of LSE’s Hellenic Observatory, has been bestowed the award Grand Commander, Order of the Phoenix of the Hellenic Republic by H.E. Mr Ioannis Raptakis, Ambassador of Greece, for his contribution in enhancing knowledge about Greece in the United Kingdom and reinforcing ties between our two countries.

The award is presented to Professor Featherstone today, Monday 19 April 2021, at the Ambassador’s residence in London.

Professor Featherstone is one of the few that holds two insignia, since in 2013 he had been conferred Commander, Order of the Phoenix. He is one of the most distinguished and recognizable academics in the field of political science He is a member of the British Steering Committee 21in21 and he is constantly working towards making the Greek positions better understood in order to bring the two countries closer together.”
